چکیده

The present study explores the structural pavement design techniques related to distresses in terms of rutting, cracking and International Roughness Index (IRI) based on materials properties, roadbed characteristics, climate traffic loads for highway network Saudi Arabia (KSA). was focused selected site conditions at four regions KSA: Central (Riyadh); Eastern (Al-Ahsa); Western (Jeddah) Northern (Arar). Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) software used calibrate predict life according mentioned different KSA. This is first time where exact weather stations were run analysis determining realistic distresses. In study, structure low (700 AADTT) high (2000, 6000, 10,000 AADTT). tests MEPDG analyze predicted by an interval 5, 10, 15, 20 years. results show that preliminary example satisfies all target life, even provides a base designers can be modified as per project requirements using specific data traffic, material thickness, distress limit achieve life.

Sensitivity analysis of rigid pavement systems using the mechanistic-empirical design guide software

Initiatives are underway to implement the new Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) in Iowa. This paper focuses on the sensitivity study of Jointed Plain Concrete Pavements (JPCP) and Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements (CRCP) in Iowa using the MEPDG software. In this comprehensive study, the effect of MEPDG input parameters on the rigid pavement performance is evaluated us...

Use of Pavement Management Information System for Verification of Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide Performance Predictions

The performance models used in the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) are nationally calibrated with design inputs and performance data obtained primarily from the national Long-Term Pavement Performance database. It is necessary to verify and calibrate MEPDG performance models for local highway agencies' implementation by taking into account local materials, traffic informatio...

Calibration of Pavement ME Design and Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide Performance Prediction Models for Iowa Pavement Systems

The AASHTO Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) pavement performance models and the associated AASHTOWare® Pavement ME Design software are nationally calibrated using design inputs and distress data largely from the national Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP). Further calibration and validation studies are necessary for local highway agencies’ implementation by taking into acc...

Characterization of Cementitiously Stabilized Subgrades for Mechanistic-empirical Pavement Design

Pavements are vulnerable to subgrade layer performance because it acts as a foundation. Due to significant increase in truck traffic, pavement engineers are challenged to build more strong and long-lasting pavements. To increase the load-bearing capacity of pavements, subgrade layer is often stabilized with cementitious additives. Thus, an overall characterization of cementitiously stabilized s...

Weigh-in-Motion Data Analysis Software for Developing Traffic Data for Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design

 Abstract—Currently, there are few user friendly Weigh-inMotion (WIM) data analysis softwares available which can produce traffic input data for the recently developed AASHTOWare pavement Mechanistic-Empirical (ME) design software. However, these softwares have only rudimentary Quality Control (QC) processes. Therefore, they cannot properly deal with erroneous WIM data. As the pavement perform...
